23:1 แล้วโยบตอบและกล่าวว่า
Job Longs After God
23:1 Then Job answered and said,
23:2 แม้แต่วันนี้ คำร้องทุกข์ของข้าก็ขมขื่น การที่ข้าถูกทุบตีก็หนักกว่าการร้องครางของข้า
23:2 Even to day is my complaint bitter: my stroke is heavier than my groaning.
23:3 โอ ข้าอยากทราบว่าข้าจะพบพระองค์ได้ที่ไหน เพื่อข้าจะมาถึงพระที่นั่งของพระองค์
23:3 Oh that I knew where I might find him! that I might come even to his seat!
23:4 ข้าจะยื่นคดีของข้าต่อพระพักตร์พระองค์ และให้ปากข้าเต็มไปด้วยข้อโต้แย้งต่าง ๆ
23:4 I would order my cause before him, and fill my mouth with arguments.
23:5 ข้าจะทราบพระวจนะทั้งหลายซึ่งพระองค์จะทรงใช้เพื่อตอบข้า และเข้าใจสิ่งทั้งปวงที่พระองค์จะตรัสกับข้า
23:5 I would know the words which he would answer me, and understand what he would say unto me.
23:6 พระองค์จะทรงโต้แย้งกับข้าด้วยฤทธานุภาพอันยิ่งใหญ่ของพระองค์หรือ เปล่าเลย แต่พระองค์จะทรงเสริมกำลังให้ข้าต่างหาก
23:6 Will he plead against me with his great power? No; but he would put strength in me.
23:7 ณ ที่นั่นคนชอบธรรมอาจจะสู้ความกับพระองค์ได้ ดังนั้นข้าควรจะรับการช่วยให้พ้นจากผู้พิพากษาของข้าเป็นนิตย์
23:7 There the righteous might dispute with him; so should I be delivered for ever from my judge.
23:8 ดูเถิด ข้าเดินไปข้างหน้า แต่พระองค์มิได้ทรงสถิตอยู่ที่นั่น และเดินถอยหลัง แต่ข้าไม่สามารถรับรู้พระองค์ได้
23:8 Behold, I go forward, but he is not there; and backward, but I cannot perceive him:
23:9 ข้างซ้ายมือที่พระองค์ทรงกระทำพระราชกิจ แต่ข้าไม่สามารถเห็นพระองค์ได้ ข้างขวามือพระองค์ทรงซ่อนพระองค์อยู่ เพื่อข้าจะไม่สามารถเห็นพระองค์ได้
23:9 On the left hand, where he doth work, but I cannot behold him: he hideth himself on the right hand, that I cannot see him:
23:10 แต่พระองค์ทรงทราบหนทางที่ข้าไป เมื่อพระองค์ทรงทดสอบข้าแล้ว ข้าก็จะปรากฏว่าเป็นเหมือนอย่างทองคำ
23:10 But he knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold.
23:11 เท้าของข้าติดบรรดารอยพระบาทของพระองค์แน่น ข้ารักษามรรคาของพระองค์ไว้ และมิได้ปฏิเสธเลย
23:11 My foot hath held his steps, his way have I kept, and not declined.
23:12 ทั้งข้ามิได้ย้อนกลับไปจากพระบัญญัติแห่งพระโอษฐ์ของพระองค์ ข้าถือว่าบรรดาพระวจนะแห่งพระโอษฐ์ของพระองค์มีค่ายิ่งกว่าอาหารที่จำเป็นของข้า
23:12 Neither have I gone back from the commandment of his lips; I have esteemed the words of his mouth more than my necessary food.
23:13 แต่พระองค์ทรงตัดสินพระทัยแน่วแน่แล้ว และผู้ใดจะหันพระองค์ได้ และพระวิญญาณของพระองค์ทรงประสงค์สิ่งใด พระองค์ก็ทรงกระทำสิ่งนั้นแหละ
23:13 But he is in one mind, and who can turn him? and what his soul desireth, even that he doeth.
23:14 เพราะว่าพระองค์ทรงกระทำสิ่งนั้นที่ถูกกำหนดไว้สำหรับข้า และอีกหลายสิ่งเช่นนั้นก็อยู่กับพระองค์
23:14 For he performeth the thing that is appointed for me: and many such things are with him.
23:15 เพราะฉะนั้นข้าจึงสะทกสะท้านต่อพระพักตร์พระองค์ เมื่อข้าตรึกตรองแล้ว ข้าก็ครั่นคร้ามต่อพระองค์
23:15 Therefore am I troubled at his presence: when I consider, I am afraid of him.
23:16 เพราะพระเจ้าทรงกระทำให้ใจของข้าอ่อนเปลี้ย และองค์ผู้ทรงมหิทธิฤทธิ์ทรงกระทำให้ข้าสะทกสะท้าน
23:16 For God maketh my heart soft, and the Almighty troubleth me:
23:17 เพราะข้ามิได้ถูกตัดขาดก่อนความมืดมาถึง ทั้งพระองค์มิได้ทรงปิดบังความมืดไว้จากหน้าของข้า
23:17 Because I was not cut off before the darkness, neither hath he covered the darkness from my face.
