ซามูเอลประกาศเรื่องอาณาจักรอิสราเอล
12:1 ซามูเอลจึงกล่าวแก่คนอิสราเอลทั้งปวงว่า “ดูเถิด ข้าพเจ้าได้ฟังเสียงของท่านทุกเรื่องซึ่งท่านได้บอกข้าพเจ้า และได้แต่งตั้งกษัตริย์เหนือท่านทั้งหลายแล้ว

Samuel Speaks to Israel
12:1 And Samuel said unto all Israel, Behold, I have hearkened unto your voice in all that ye said unto me, and have made a king over you.

12:2 และบัดนี้ ดูเถิด กษัตริย์ก็ดำเนินอยู่ต่อหน้าท่าน ส่วนข้าพเจ้าก็ชราผมหงอกแล้ว และดูเถิด บุตรชายของข้าพเจ้าก็อยู่กับท่านทั้งหลาย และข้าพเจ้าดำเนินอยู่ต่อหน้าท่านตั้งแต่หนุ่มๆมาจนทุกวันนี้

12:2 And now, behold, the king walketh before you: and I am old and grayheaded; and, behold, my sons are with you: and I have walked before you from my childhood unto this day.

12:3 ดูเถิด ข้าพเจ้าอยู่ที่นี่ ขอท่านเป็นพยานปรักปรำข้าพเจ้าต่อพระพักตร์พระเยโฮวาห์ และต่อหน้าท่านที่พระองค์ทรงเจิมไว้ ข้าพเจ้าได้ริบวัวของผู้ใดบ้างหรือ หรือข้าพเจ้าเอาลาของผู้ใดไปบ้าง หรือข้าพเจ้าได้ฉ้อผู้ใด ข้าพเจ้าได้บีบบังคับใครบ้าง ข้าพเจ้าได้รับสินบนจากมือของผู้ใดซึ่งจะกระทำให้ตาของข้าพเจ้าบอดไป ขอกล่าวมาและข้าพเจ้าจะคืนให้แก่ท่าน”

12:3 Behold, here I am: witness against me before the LORD, and before his anointed: whose ox have I taken? or whose ass have I taken? or whom have I defrauded? whom have I oppressed? or of whose hand have I received any bribe to blind mine eyes therewith? and I will restore it you.

12:4 เขาทั้งหลายกล่าวว่า “ท่านมิได้ฉ้อเรา หรือบีบบังคับเรา หรือรับสิ่งใดไปจากมือของผู้ใด”

12:4 And they said, Thou hast not defrauded us, nor oppressed us, neither hast thou taken ought of any man's hand.

12:5 ท่านก็กล่าวแก่เขาทั้งหลายว่า “พระเยโฮวาห์ทรงเป็นพยานต่อท่าน และท่านที่พระองค์ทรงเจิมไว้ก็เป็นพยานในวันนี้ว่า ท่านไม่พบสิ่งใดในมือของข้าพเจ้า” และเขาทั้งหลายกล่าวว่า “พระองค์ทรงเป็นพยานแล้ว”

12:5 And he said unto them, The LORD is witness against you, and his anointed is witness this day, that ye have not found ought in my hand. And they answered, He is witness.

ซามูเอลบอกประชาชนเรื่องเวลาต่างๆที่พระเจ้าทรงช่วยอิสราเอลให้รอด
12:6 และซามูเอลก็กล่าวแก่ประชาชนว่า “พระเยโฮวาห์ทรงเป็นผู้แต่งตั้งโมเสสกับอาโรน และทรงนำบรรพบุรุษของท่านขึ้นมาจากแผ่นดินอียิปต์

Samuel Reminds People of God's Deliverances
12:6 And Samuel said unto the people, It is the LORD that advanced Moses and Aaron, and that brought your fathers up out of the land of Egypt.

12:7 ฉะนั้นบัดนี้ขอท่านทั้งหลายจงยืนนิ่งอยู่ ข้าพเจ้าจะขอเสนอคดีของท่านต่อพระพักตร์พระเยโฮวาห์ เกี่ยวด้วยบรรดาพระราชกิจอันชอบธรรมของพระเยโฮวาห์ ซึ่งพระองค์ทรงกระทำแก่ท่านทั้งหลายและแก่บรรพบุรุษของท่านทั้งหลาย

12:7 Now therefore stand still, that I may reason with you before the LORD of all the righteous acts of the LORD, which he did to you and to your fathers.

12:8 เมื่อยาโคบเข้าไปในอียิปต์ และบรรพบุรุษของท่านร้องต่อพระเยโฮวาห์ พระเยโฮวาห์ก็ทรงใช้โมเสสกับอาโรน ผู้ได้นำบรรพบุรุษของท่านออกจากอียิปต์ และทำให้เขามาอาศัยอยู่ในที่นี้

12:8 When Jacob was come into Egypt, and your fathers cried unto the LORD, then the LORD sent Moses and Aaron, which brought forth your fathers out of Egypt, and made them dwell in this place.

12:9 แต่เขาทั้งหลายลืมพระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของเขาเสีย พระองค์จึงทรงขายเขาไว้ในมือของสิเสรา แม่ทัพแห่งเมืองฮาโซร์ และมอบไว้ในมือของคนฟีลิสเตีย และไว้ในมือของกษัตริย์แห่งเมืองโมอับ และเขาเหล่านั้นก็ต่อสู้บรรพบุรุษของท่าน

12:9 And when they forgat the LORD their God, he sold them into the hand of Sisera, captain of the host of Hazor, and into the hand of the Philistines, and into the hand of the king of Moab, and they fought against them.

12:10 และเขาทั้งหลายร้องทูลต่อพระเยโฮวาห์ว่า ‘ข้าพระองค์ทั้งหลายได้กระทำบาปแล้ว เพราะว่าข้าพระองค์ทั้งหลายได้ละทิ้งพระเยโฮวาห์ ไปปรนนิบัติพระบาอัลและพระอัชทาโรท แต่บัดนี้ขอพระองค์ทรงช่วยข้าพระองค์ทั้งหลายให้พ้นมือศัตรูของข้าพระองค์ และข้าพระองค์ทั้งหลายจะปรนนิบัติพระองค์’

12:10 And they cried unto the LORD, and said, We have sinned, because we have forsaken the LORD, and have served Baalim and Ashtaroth: but now deliver us out of the hand of our enemies, and we will serve thee.

12:11 และพระเยโฮวาห์ทรงใช้เยรุบบาอัล และเบดาน และเยฟธาห์ และซามูเอล และช่วยท่านทั้งหลายให้พ้นจากมือศัตรูทุกด้าน และท่านทั้งหลายอาศัยอยู่อย่างปลอดภัย

12:11 And the LORD sent Jerubbaal, and Bedan, and Jephthah, and Samuel, and delivered you out of the hand of your enemies on every side, and ye dwelled safe.

12:12 และเมื่อท่านทั้งหลายเห็นนาหาชกษัตริย์คนอัมโมนมาต่อสู้ท่านทั้งหลาย ท่านทั้งหลายกล่าวแก่ข้าพเจ้าว่า ‘ไม่ได้ แต่ต้องมีกษัตริย์ปกครองเหนือเรา’ ถึงแม้ว่าพระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของท่านเป็นพระมหากษัตริย์ของท่าน

12:12 And when ye saw that Nahash the king of the children of Ammon came against you, ye said unto me, Nay; but a king shall reign over us: when the LORD your God was your king.

12:13 ฉะนั้นบัดนี้จงดูกษัตริย์ที่ท่านทั้งหลายได้เลือก ผู้ซึ่งท่านทั้งหลายได้ร้องขอ ดูเถิด พระเยโฮวาห์ทรงตั้งกษัตริย์ไว้เหนือท่านแล้ว

12:13 Now therefore behold the king whom ye have chosen, and whom ye have desired! and, behold, the LORD hath set a king over you.

12:14 ถ้าท่านทั้งหลายจะยำเกรงพระเยโฮวาห์ และปรนนิบัติพระองค์ และเชื่อฟังพระสุรเสียงของพระองค์ และไม่กบฏต่อพระบัญชาของพระเยโฮวาห์ ท่านทั้งหลายและกษัตริย์ผู้ปกครองเหนือท่านจึงจะเป็นผู้ติดตามพระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของท่านทั้งหลายต่อไป

12:14 If ye will fear the LORD, and serve him, and obey his voice, and not rebel against the commandment of the LORD, then shall both ye and also the king that reigneth over you continue following the LORD your God:

12:15 แต่ถ้าท่านทั้งหลายไม่เชื่อฟังพระสุรเสียงของพระเยโฮวาห์ แต่กบฏต่อพระบัญชาของพระเยโฮวาห์ แล้วพระหัตถ์ของพระเยโฮวาห์จะต่อสู้ท่านทั้งหลายเหมือนเคยต่อสู้บรรพบุรุษของท่าน

12:15 But if ye will not obey the voice of the LORD, but rebel against the commandment of the LORD, then shall the hand of the LORD be against you, as it was against your fathers.

ฟ้าร้องและฝนในฤดูเกี่ยวข้าวสาลีพิสูจน์ว่าพระเจ้ายังทรงรับคนอิสราเอล
12:16 เพราะฉะนั้นบัดนี้ท่านทั้งหลายจงยืนนิ่งอยู่ คอยดูเหตุการณ์ยิ่งใหญ่ต่อไปนี้ ซึ่งพระเยโฮวาห์จะทรงกระทำต่อหน้าต่อตาของท่านทั้งหลาย

Thunder and Rain in Harvest to Prove God's Acceptance
12:16 Now therefore stand and see this great thing, which the LORD will do before your eyes.

12:17 วันนี้เป็นฤดูเกี่ยวข้าวสาลีไม่ใช่หรือ ข้าพเจ้าจะร้องทูลต่อพระเยโฮวาห์ และพระองค์จะทรงส่งฟ้าร้องและฝน เพื่อท่านทั้งหลายจะรับรู้และเห็นเองว่า ความชั่วของท่านนั้นใหญ่โตเพียงใด ซึ่งท่านได้กระทำในสายพระเนตรของพระเยโฮวาห์ ในการที่ได้ขอให้มีกษัตริย์สำหรับท่าน”

12:17 Is it not wheat harvest to day? I will call unto the LORD, and he shall send thunder and rain; that ye may perceive and see that your wickedness is great, which ye have done in the sight of the LORD, in asking you a king.

12:18 ซามูเอลจึงร้องทูลต่อพระเยโฮวาห์ และพระเยโฮวาห์ทรงส่งฟ้าร้องและฝนมาในวันนั้น ประชาชนทั้งหลายก็เกรงกลัวพระเยโฮวาห์และซามูเอลยิ่งนัก

12:18 So Samuel called unto the LORD; and the LORD sent thunder and rain that day: and all the people greatly feared the LORD and Samuel.

12:19 และประชาชนทั้งหลายเรียนซามูเอลว่า “ขอท่านอธิษฐานต่อพระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าของท่านเผื่อผู้รับใช้ทั้งหลายของท่าน เพื่อเราทั้งหลายจะไม่ถึงตาย เพราะเราได้เพิ่มความชั่วนี้เข้ากับบาปทั้งสิ้นของเรา คือขอให้มีกษัตริย์สำหรับเราทั้งหลาย”

12:19 And all the people said unto Samuel, Pray for thy servants unto the LORD thy God, that we die not: for we have added unto all our sins this evil, to ask us a king.

12:20 และซามูเอลกล่าวแก่ประชาชนว่า “อย่ากลัวเลย ท่านทั้งหลายได้กระทำความชั่วนี้ทั้งสิ้นจริงๆแล้ว แต่ท่านทั้งหลายอย่าหันไปเสียจากการติดตามพระเยโฮวาห์ แต่จงปรนนิบัติพระเยโฮวาห์ด้วยสิ้นสุดใจของท่าน

12:20 And Samuel said unto the people, Fear not: ye have done all this wickedness: yet turn not aside from following the LORD, but serve the LORD with all your heart;

12:21 และอย่าหันเหไปติดตามสิ่งไม่มีสาระ ซึ่งไม่เป็นประโยชน์ หรือไม่ช่วยให้พ้น เพราะเป็นสิ่งไม่มีสาระ

12:21 And turn ye not aside: for then should ye go after vain things, which cannot profit nor deliver; for they are vain.

12:22 เพราะพระเยโฮวาห์จะไม่ละทิ้งประชาชนของพระองค์ ด้วยเห็นแก่พระนามใหญ่ยิ่งของพระองค์ เพราะพระเยโฮวาห์ทรงพอพระทัยแล้วที่จะกระทำให้ท่านเป็นประชาชนของพระองค์

12:22 For the LORD will not forsake his people for his great name's sake: because it hath pleased the LORD to make you his people.

12:23 ยิ่งกว่านั้นส่วนข้าพเจ้าขอพระเจ้าอย่ายอมให้ข้าพเจ้ากระทำบาปต่อพระเยโฮวาห์เลยด้วยการหยุดอธิษฐานเพื่อท่านทั้งหลาย แต่ข้าพเจ้าจะสอนทางที่ดีและที่ถูกให้ท่าน

12:23 Moreover as for me, God forbid that I should sin against the LORD in ceasing to pray for you: but I will teach you the good and the right way:

12:24 จงยำเกรงพระเยโฮวาห์เท่านั้น ปรนนิบัติพระองค์ด้วยความจริงด้วยสิ้นสุดใจของท่าน จงพิเคราะห์ถึงมหกิจซึ่งพระองค์ได้ทรงกระทำแก่ท่านแล้วนั้น

12:24 Only fear the LORD, and serve him in truth with all your heart: for consider how great things he hath done for you.

12:25 แต่ถ้าท่านทั้งหลายขืนกระทำความชั่วอยู่ ท่านจะต้องพินาศ ทั้งตัวท่านทั้งหลายเองและกษัตริย์ของท่านด้วย”

12:25 But if ye shall still do wickedly, ye shall be consumed, both ye and your king.
