สง่าราศีของพระบุตรและพระราชกิจของพระองค์
1:1 ในโบราณกาลพระเจ้าได้ตรัสด้วยวิธีต่างๆมากมายแก่บรรพบุรุษทางพวกศาสดาพยากรณ์

The Glory of the Son and His Work
1:1 God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,

1:2 แต่ในวันสุดท้ายเหล่านี้พระองค์ได้ตรัสแก่เราทั้งหลายทางพระบุตร ผู้ซึ่งพระองค์ได้ทรงตั้งให้เป็นผู้รับสรรพสิ่งทั้งปวงเป็นมรดก พระองค์ได้ทรงสร้างกัลปจักรวาลโดยพระบุตร

1:2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;

1:3 พระบุตรทรงเป็นแสงสะท้อนสง่าราศีของพระเจ้า และทรงมีสภาวะเป็นพิมพ์เดียวกันกับพระองค์ และทรงผดุงสรรพสิ่งไว้โดยพระดำรัสอันทรงฤทธิ์ของพระองค์ เมื่อพระบุตรได้ทรงชำระบาปของเราด้วยพระองค์เองแล้ว ก็ได้ทรงประทับนั่ง ณ เบื้องขวาพระหัตถ์ของผู้ทรงเดชานุภาพเบื้องบน

1:3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;

พระบุตรทรงอยู่เหนือพวกทูตสวรรค์
1:4 พระองค์ทรงเป็นผู้เยี่ยมกว่าเหล่าทูตสวรรค์มากนัก ด้วยว่าพระองค์ทรงรับพระนามที่ประเสริฐกว่านามของทูตสวรรค์นั้นเป็นมรดก

The Son Is above the Angels
1:4 Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.

1:5 เพราะว่ามีผู้ใดบ้างในบรรดาทูตสวรรค์ที่พระองค์ได้ตรัสแก่เขาในเวลาใดว่า ‘ท่านเป็นบุตรของเรา วันนี้เราได้ให้กำเนิดแก่ท่านแล้ว’ และยังตรัสอีกว่า ‘เราจะเป็นบิดาของเขา และเขาจะเป็นบุตรของเรา’

1:5 For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son?

1:6 และอีกครั้งหนึ่งเมื่อพระองค์ทรงนำพระบุตรหัวปีองค์ที่ได้บังเกิดนั้นให้เสด็จเข้ามาในโลก พระองค์ก็ตรัสว่า ‘ให้บรรดาพวกทูตสวรรค์ทั้งสิ้นของพระเจ้านมัสการท่าน’

1:6 And again, when he bringeth in the firstbegotten into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him.

1:7 ส่วนพวกทูตสวรรค์นั้น พระองค์ตรัสว่า ‘พระองค์ทรงบันดาลพวกทูตสวรรค์ของพระองค์ให้เป็นดุจวิญญาณ และทรงบันดาลผู้รับใช้ของพระองค์ให้เป็นดุจเปลวเพลิง’

1:7 And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire.

1:8 แต่ส่วนพระบุตรนั้น พระองค์ตรัสว่า ‘โอ พระเจ้าข้า พระที่นั่งของพระองค์ดำรงเป็นนิตย์และเป็นนิตย์ ธารพระกรแห่งอาณาจักรของพระองค์ก็เป็นธารพระกรเที่ยงธรรม

1:8 But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom.

1:9 พระองค์ทรงรักความชอบธรรม และทรงเกลียดชังความชั่วช้า ฉะนั้นพระเจ้า คือ พระเจ้าของพระองค์ ได้ทรงเจิมพระองค์ไว้ด้วยน้ำมันแห่งความยินดียิ่งกว่าพระสหายทั้งปวงของพระองค์’

1:9 Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.

1:10 และ ‘องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าเจ้าข้า เมื่อเดิมพระองค์ทรงวางรากฐานของแผ่นดินโลก และฟ้าสวรรค์เป็นพระหัตถกิจของพระองค์

1:10 And, Thou, Lord, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of thine hands:

1:11 สิ่งเหล่านี้จะพินาศไป แต่พระองค์ทรงดำรงอยู่ สิ่งเหล่านี้จะเก่าไปเหมือนเครื่องนุ่งห่ม

1:11 They shall perish; but thou remainest; and they all shall wax old as doth a garment;

1:12 พระองค์จะทรงม้วนสิ่งเหล่านี้ไว้ดุจเสื้อคลุม และสิ่งเหล่านั้นก็จะเปลี่ยนแปลงไป แต่พระองค์ยังทรงเป็นอย่างเดิม และปีเดือนของพระองค์จะไม่สิ้นสุด’

1:12 And as a vesture shalt thou fold them up, and they shall be changed: but thou art the same, and thy years shall not fail.

1:13 แต่แก่ทูตสวรรค์องค์ใดเล่าที่พระองค์ได้ตรัสในเวลาใดว่า ‘จงนั่งที่ขวามือของเรา จนกว่าเราจะกระทำให้ศัตรูของท่านเป็นแท่นรองเท้าของท่าน’

1:13 But to which of the angels said he at any time, Sit on my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool?

1:14 ทูตสวรรค์ทั้งปวงเป็นแต่เพียงวิญญาณผู้ปรนนิบัติ ที่พระองค์ทรงส่งไปช่วยเหลือบรรดาผู้ที่จะได้รับความรอดเป็นมรดกมิใช่หรือ

1:14 Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?
