พระเจ้าทรงปลอบโยนบารุค
45:1 ถ้อยคำซึ่งเยเรมีย์ผู้พยากรณ์บอกแก่บารุคบุตรชายเนริยาห์เมื่อเขาเขียนถ้อยคำเหล่านี้ลงในหนังสือตามคำบอกของเยเรมีย์ ในปีที่สี่แห่งรัชกาลเยโฮยาคิม ราชบุตรของโยสิยาห์ กษัตริย์แห่งยูดาห์ว่า

God's Comfort to Baruch
45:1 The word that Jeremiah the prophet spake unto Baruch the son of Neriah, when he had written these words in a book at the mouth of Jeremiah, in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah, saying,

45:2 “โอ บารุคเอ๋ย พระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้าแห่งอิสราเอล ตรัสแก่ท่านดังนี้ว่า

45:2 Thus saith the LORD, the God of Israel, unto thee, O Baruch;

45:3 เจ้าว่า ‘บัดนี้ วิบัติแก่ข้า เพราะพระเยโฮวาห์ทรงเพิ่มความทุกข์เข้าที่ความเศร้าโศกของข้า ข้าก็เหน็ดเหนื่อยด้วยการคร่ำครวญของข้า ข้าไม่ประสบความสงบเลย’

45:3 Thou didst say, Woe is me now! for the LORD hath added grief to my sorrow; I fainted in my sighing, and I find no rest.

45:4 เจ้าจงบอกเขาว่า พระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสดังนี้ว่า ดูเถิด สิ่งใดที่เราก่อสร้างขึ้น เราจะทำลายลง และสิ่งใดที่เราได้ปลูก เราจะถอนขึ้นคือแผ่นดินนี้ทั้งหมด

45:4 Thus shalt thou say unto him, The LORD saith thus; Behold, that which I have built will I break down, and that which I have planted I will pluck up, even this whole land.

45:5 และเจ้าจะหาสิ่งใหญ่โตเพื่อตัวเองหรือ อย่าหามันเลย เพราะพระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสว่า ดูเถิด เราจะนำเหตุร้ายมาเหนือเนื้อหนังทั้งสิ้น แต่เราจะให้ชีวิตของเจ้าแก่เจ้าเป็นบำเหน็จแห่งการสงครามในทุกสถานที่ที่เจ้าจะไป”

45:5 And seekest thou great things for thyself? seek them not: for, behold, I will bring evil upon all flesh, saith the LORD: but thy life will I give unto thee for a prey in all places whither thou goest.
