ดาวิดทรงมีพระประสงค์สร้างพระวิหาร (1 พศด 17:1-3)
7:1 และต่อมา เมื่อกษัตริย์ประทับในพระราชวังของพระองค์ และพระเยโฮวาห์ได้ประทานการพักสงบแก่พระองค์โดยรอบจากศัตรูทั้งสิ้นของพระองค์

David Would Build the Lord's House (1 Chr. 17:1-3)
7:1 And it came to pass, when the king sat in his house, and the LORD had given him rest round about from all his enemies;

7:2 กษัตริย์จึงตรัสกับนาธันผู้พยากรณ์ว่า “บัดนี้ ดูเถิด เราอาศัยอยู่ในบ้านทำด้วยไม้สนซีดาร์ แต่หีบของพระเจ้าพำนักอยู่ภายในผ้าม่านทั้งหลาย”

7:2 That the king said unto Nathan the prophet, See now, I dwell in an house of cedar, but the ark of God dwelleth within curtains.

7:3 และนาธันทูลกษัตริย์ว่า “เชิญเสด็จไปเถิด ขอทรงกระทำทุกสิ่งที่อยู่ในพระทัยของพระองค์ เพราะพระเยโฮวาห์ทรงสถิตอยู่กับพระองค์”

7:3 And Nathan said to the king, Go, do all that is in thine heart; for the LORD is with thee.

ราชอาณาจักรของดาวิดจะดำรงอยู่เป็นนิตย์
7:4 และต่อมาคืนวันนั้น พระวจนะของพระเยโฮวาห์มาถึงนาธัน โดยตรัสว่า

David's Kingdom to Be Extended Forever
7:4 And it came to pass that night, that the word of the LORD came unto Nathan, saying,

7:5 “จงไปและบอกดาวิดผู้รับใช้ของเราว่า ‘พระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสดังนี้ว่า เจ้าจะสร้างนิเวศน์หลังหนึ่งให้แก่เราเพื่อให้เราอาศัยอยู่ในนั้นหรือ

7:5 Go and tell my servant David, Thus saith the LORD, Shalt thou build me an house for me to dwell in?

7:6 เพราะว่าเราไม่เคยอาศัยอยู่ในนิเวศน์ใด ๆ ตั้งแต่เวลาที่เราได้พาลูกหลานของอิสราเอลขึ้นมาจากอียิปต์ จนกระทั่งวันนี้ แต่ได้ดำเนินในเต็นท์และในพลับพลา

7:6 Whereas I have not dwelt in any house since the time that I brought up the children of Israel out of Egypt, even to this day, but have walked in a tent and in a tabernacle.

7:7 ในสถานที่ทั้งปวงนั้นที่เราได้ดำเนินกับลูกหลานของอิสราเอลทั้งสิ้น เราเคยพูดสักคำกับเผ่าใดของอิสราเอล ผู้ที่เราได้บัญชาให้เลี้ยงดูอิสราเอลประชากรของเราหรือ โดยกล่าวว่า “ทำไมพวกเจ้าถึงไม่สร้างนิเวศน์หลังหนึ่งด้วยไม้สนซีดาร์ให้แก่เรา”’

7:7 In all the places wherein I have walked with all the children of Israel spake I a word with any of the tribes of Israel, whom I commanded to feed my people Israel, saying, Why build ye not me an house of cedar?

7:8 เพราะฉะนั้นบัดนี้ เจ้าต้องกล่าวดังนั้นแก่ดาวิดผู้รับใช้ของเราว่า ‘พระเยโฮวาห์จอมโยธาตรัสดังนี้ว่า เราได้เอาเจ้ามาจากคอกแกะ จากการตามฝูงแกะ เพื่อให้เป็นผู้ปกครองเหนือประชากรของเรา คือเหนืออิสราเอล

7:8 Now therefore so shalt thou say unto my servant David, Thus saith the LORD of hosts, I took thee from the sheepcote, from following the sheep, to be ruler over my people, over Israel:

7:9 และเราได้อยู่กับเจ้าไม่ว่าเจ้าไปที่ใดก็ตาม และได้กำจัดบรรดาศัตรูของเจ้าให้พ้นสายตาของเจ้า และได้กระทำให้เจ้ามีชื่อเสียงใหญ่โต อย่างกับชื่อเสียงของบรรดาคนใหญ่คนโตที่อยู่ในแผ่นดินโลก

7:9 And I was with thee whithersoever thou wentest, and have cut off all thine enemies out of thy sight, and have made thee a great name, like unto the name of the great men that are in the earth.

7:10 ยิ่งกว่านั้นเราจะกำหนดสถานที่แห่งหนึ่งให้อิสราเอลประชากรของเรา และจะปลูกพวกเขาไว้ เพื่อพวกเขาจะอาศัยอยู่ในสถานที่ของพวกเขาเอง และไม่ถูกเคลื่อนย้ายไปอีก และบรรดาลูกแห่งความชั่วจะไม่ข่มเหงพวกเขาอีกต่อไปเหมือนแต่ก่อนมา

7:10 Moreover I will appoint a place for my people Israel, and will plant them, that they may dwell in a place of their own, and move no more; neither shall the children of wickedness afflict them any more, as beforetime,

7:11 และตั้งแต่สมัยที่เราได้บัญชาพวกผู้วินิจฉัยให้อยู่เหนืออิสราเอลประชากรของเรา และเราให้เจ้าพักสงบจากบรรดาศัตรูของเจ้า พระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสแก่เจ้าด้วยว่า พระองค์จะทรงให้เจ้ามีราชวงศ์

7:11 And as since the time that I commanded judges to be over my people Israel, and have caused thee to rest from all thine enemies. Also the LORD telleth thee that he will make thee an house.

7:12 และเมื่อวันทั้งหลายของเจ้าครบถ้วนแล้ว และเจ้าต้องล่วงหลับไปอยู่กับบรรพบุรุษของเจ้า เราจะตั้งเชื้อสายของเจ้าไว้ต่อจากเจ้า ผู้ซึ่งจะออกมาจากบั้นเอวของเจ้า และเราจะสถาปนาอาณาจักรของเขาไว้

7:12 And when thy days be fulfilled, and thou shalt sleep with thy fathers, I will set up thy seed after thee, which shall proceed out of thy bowels, and I will establish his kingdom.

7:13 เขาจะสร้างนิเวศน์หลังหนึ่งเพื่อนามของเรา และเราจะสถาปนาพระที่นั่งแห่งอาณาจักรของเขาให้อยู่เป็นนิตย์

7:13 He shall build an house for my name, and I will stablish the throne of his kingdom for ever.

7:14 เราจะเป็นบิดาของเขา และเขาจะเป็นบุตรชายของเรา ถ้าเขากระทำความชั่วช้า เราจะตีสอนเขาด้วยไม้เรียวของมนุษย์ และด้วยการเฆี่ยนทั้งหลายแห่งบุตรทั้งหลายของมนุษย์

7:14 I will be his father, and he shall be my son. If he commit iniquity, I will chasten him with the rod of men, and with the stripes of the children of men:

7:15 แต่ความเมตตาของเราจะไม่พรากไปจากเขา เหมือนอย่างที่เราได้พรากความเมตตาไปจากซาอูล ผู้ซึ่งเราได้ถอดเสียต่อหน้าเจ้า

7:15 But my mercy shall not depart away from him, as I took it from Saul, whom I put away before thee.

7:16 และราชวงศ์ของเจ้ากับอาณาจักรของเจ้าจะได้รับการสถาปนาไว้ต่อหน้าเจ้าเป็นนิตย์ พระที่นั่งของเจ้าจะได้รับการสถาปนาไว้เป็นนิตย์’”

7:16 And thine house and thy kingdom shall be established for ever before thee: thy throne shall be established for ever.

7:17 ตามถ้อยคำเหล่านี้ทั้งสิ้น และตามนิมิตนี้ทั้งหมด นาธันจึงกราบทูลดาวิดดังนั้น

7:17 According to all these words, and according to all this vision, so did Nathan speak unto David.

ดาวิดถ่อมใจลงและอธิษฐานเพื่อราชอาณาจักรอิสราเอล (1 พศด 17:16-27)
7:18 แล้วกษัตริย์ดาวิดจึงเสด็จเข้าไป และประทับนั่งต่อพระพักตร์พระเยโฮวาห์ และพระองค์กราบทูลว่า “ข้าพระองค์เป็นผู้ใดเล่า โอ ข้าแต่องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าพระเจ้า และราชวงศ์ของข้าพระองค์เป็นผู้ใด พระองค์จึงได้ทรงนำข้าพระองค์มาถึงเพียงนี้

David Humbles Himself and Prays for the Kingdom of Israel (1 Chr. 17:16-27)
7:18 Then went king David in, and sat before the LORD, and he said, Who am I, O Lord GOD? and what is my house, that thou hast brought me hitherto?

7:19 And this was yet a small thing in thy sight, O Lord GOD; but thou hast spoken also of thy servant's house for a great while to come. And is this the manner of man, O Lord GOD?

7:20 และดาวิดจะกราบทูลประการใดต่อพระองค์ได้อีกเล่า ด้วยว่าพระองค์ ข้าแต่องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าพระเจ้า ทรงรู้จักผู้รับใช้ของพระองค์

7:20 And what can David say more unto thee? for thou, Lord GOD, knowest thy servant.

7:21 เพราะเห็นแก่พระวจนะของพระองค์ และตามชอบพระทัยของพระองค์เอง พระองค์ได้ทรงกระทำการยิ่งใหญ่เหล่านี้ทั้งสิ้น เพื่อให้ผู้รับใช้ของพระองค์ทราบสิ่งเหล่านี้

7:21 For thy word's sake, and according to thine own heart, hast thou done all these great things, to make thy servant know them.

7:22 ฉะนั้นพระองค์ทรงยิ่งใหญ่ โอ ข้าแต่พระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้า เพราะไม่มีผู้ใดเหมือนพระองค์ และไม่มีพระเจ้าองค์ใดนอกเหนือพระองค์ ตามสิ่งสารพัดที่พวกข้าพระองค์ได้ยินด้วยหูของพวกข้าพระองค์

7:22 Wherefore thou art great, O LORD God: for there is none like thee, neither is there any God beside thee, according to all that we have heard with our ears.

7:23 และชนชาติใดเล่าในแผ่นดินโลกที่เป็นเหมือนประชากรของพระองค์ คือเหมือนคนอิสราเอล ผู้ซึ่งพระเจ้าได้เสด็จไปเพื่อทรงไถ่มาให้เป็นประชากรของพระองค์เอง และเพื่อทรงกระทำให้พระนามของพระองค์มีเกียรติ และเพื่อทรงกระทำบรรดาสิ่งที่ยิ่งใหญ่และน่าสะพรึงกลัวเพื่อพวกเขา เพื่อแผ่นดินของพระองค์ ต่อหน้าประชากรของพระองค์ ซึ่งพระองค์ได้ทรงไถ่ออกจากอียิปต์เพื่อพระองค์ จากบรรดาประชาชาติ และบรรดาพระของพวกเขา

7:23 And what one nation in the earth is like thy people, even like Israel, whom God went to redeem for a people to himself, and to make him a name, and to do for you great things and terrible, for thy land, before thy people, which thou redeemedst to thee from Egypt, from the nations and their gods?

7:24 ด้วยว่าพระองค์ได้ทรงสถาปนาอิสราเอลประชากรของพระองค์ไว้ให้เป็นประชากรเพื่อพระองค์เป็นนิตย์ และพระองค์ ข้าแต่พระเยโฮวาห์ ได้ทรงกลายเป็นพระเจ้าของพวกเขาแล้ว

7:24 For thou hast confirmed to thyself thy people Israel to be a people unto thee for ever: and thou, LORD, art become their God.

7:25 และบัดนี้ โอ ข้าแต่พระเยโฮวาห์พระเจ้า พระวาทะที่พระองค์ได้ตรัสเกี่ยวกับผู้รับใช้ของพระองค์ และเกี่ยวกับราชวงศ์ของผู้รับใช้นั้น ขอทรงสถาปนาราชวงศ์นั้นเป็นนิตย์ และขอทรงกระทำตามที่พระองค์ได้ตรัสไว้แล้วเถิด

7:25 And now, O LORD God, the word that thou hast spoken concerning thy servant, and concerning his house, establish it for ever, and do as thou hast said.

7:26 และขอให้พระนามของพระองค์เป็นที่ยกย่องเป็นนิตย์ โดยกล่าวว่า ‘พระเยโฮวาห์จอมโยธาทรงเป็นพระเจ้าเหนืออิสราเอล’ และขอให้ราชวงศ์ของดาวิดผู้รับใช้ของพระองค์ได้รับการสถาปนาไว้ต่อพระพักตร์พระองค์

7:26 And let thy name be magnified for ever, saying, The LORD of hosts is the God over Israel: and let the house of thy servant David be established before thee.

7:27 เพราะว่าพระองค์ โอ ข้าแต่พระเยโฮวาห์จอมโยธา พระเจ้าแห่งอิสราเอล ได้ทรงเปิดเผยแก่ผู้รับใช้ของพระองค์แล้ว โดยตรัสว่า ‘เราจะสร้างราชวงศ์ให้เจ้า’ เพราะฉะนั้นผู้รับใช้ของพระองค์จึงมีใจพร้อมที่จะอธิษฐานคำอธิษฐานนี้ต่อพระองค์

7:27 For thou, O LORD of hosts, God of Israel, hast revealed to thy servant, saying, I will build thee an house: therefore hath thy servant found in his heart to pray this prayer unto thee.

7:28 และบัดนี้ โอ ข้าแต่องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าพระเจ้า พระองค์ทรงเป็นพระเจ้าองค์นั้น และบรรดาพระวาทะของพระองค์เป็นความจริง และพระองค์ได้ทรงสัญญาความประเสริฐนี้แก่ผู้รับใช้ของพระองค์

7:28 And now, O Lord GOD, thou art that God, and thy words be true, and thou hast promised this goodness unto thy servant:

7:29 เพราะฉะนั้นบัดนี้ ขอโปรดให้เป็นที่พอพระทัยของพระองค์ที่จะอวยพรราชวงศ์ของผู้รับใช้ของพระองค์ เพื่อราชวงศ์นั้นจะดำรงอยู่ต่อพระพักตร์พระองค์เป็นนิตย์ เพราะพระองค์ โอ ข้าแต่องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าพระเจ้า ได้ตรัสไว้แล้ว และด้วยพระพรของพระองค์ก็ขอให้ราชวงศ์ของผู้รับใช้ของพระองค์ได้รับพระพรเป็นนิตย์”

7:29 Therefore now let it please thee to bless the house of thy servant, that it may continue for ever before thee: for thou, O Lord GOD, hast spoken it: and with thy blessing let the house of thy servant be blessed for ever.
