พระเยโฮวาห์จะทรงป้องกันเยรูซาเล็ม
31:1 วิบัติแก่คนทั้งหลายที่ลงไปยังอียิปต์เพื่อขอความช่วยเหลือ และพึ่งม้าทั้งหลาย และวางใจในบรรดารถม้าศึก เพราะพวกมันมีมาก และในบรรดาทหารม้า เพราะเขาทั้งหลายแข็งแรงนัก แต่คนเหล่านั้นไม่ได้มองไปที่องค์บริสุทธิ์แห่งอิสราเอล หรือแสวงหาพระเยโฮวาห์

The Lord Will Defend Jerusalem
31:1 Woe to them that go down to Egypt for help; and stay on horses, and trust in chariots, because they are many; and in horsemen, because they are very strong; but they look not unto the Holy One of Israel, neither seek the LORD!

31:2 แต่ถึงกระนั้น พระองค์ยังทรงเฉลียวฉลาดด้วย และจะทรงนำภัยพิบัติมา และจะไม่ทรงเรียกบรรดาพระวจนะของพระองค์คืนมา แต่จะทรงลุกขึ้นต่อสู้กับวงศ์วานของบรรดาผู้กระทำความชั่วร้าย และต่อสู้กับความช่วยเหลือของคนเหล่านั้นที่กระทำความชั่วช้า

31:2 Yet he also is wise, and will bring evil, and will not call back his words: but will arise against the house of the evildoers, and against the help of them that work iniquity.

31:3 บัดนี้คนอียิปต์เป็นมนุษย์ และไม่ใช่พระเจ้า และม้าทั้งหลายของพวกเขาเป็นเนื้อหนัง และไม่ใช่วิญญาณ เมื่อพระเยโฮวาห์จะทรงเหยียดพระหัตถ์ของพระองค์ออก ทั้งคนที่ช่วยเหลือก็จะสะดุด และคนที่รับการช่วยเหลือก็จะล้มลง และพวกเขาทุกคนจะล้มเหลวด้วยกัน

31:3 Now the Egyptians are men, and not God; and their horses flesh, and not spirit. When the LORD shall stretch out his hand, both he that helpeth shall fall, and he that is holpen shall fall down, and they all shall fail together.

31:4 เพราะพระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสกับข้าพเจ้าดังนี้ว่า “เหมือนสิงโตและสิงโตหนุ่มคำรามอยู่เหนือเหยื่อของมัน เมื่อพวกผู้เลี้ยงแกะหมู่หนึ่งถูกเรียกให้มาสู้มัน มันจะไม่คร้ามกลัวต่อเสียงของพวกเขา หรือนอบน้อมตัวเพราะเสียงอึงคะนึงของพวกเขา ดังนั้นแหละพระเยโฮวาห์จอมโยธาจะเสด็จลงมาสู้รบเพื่อภูเขาศิโยนและเพื่อเนินเขาของมัน

31:4 For thus hath the LORD spoken unto me, Like as the lion and the young lion roaring on his prey, when a multitude of shepherds is called forth against him, he will not be afraid of their voice, nor abase himself for the noise of them: so shall the LORD of hosts come down to fight for mount Zion, and for the hill thereof.

31:5 ดุจนกทั้งหลายที่บินร่อนอยู่ ดังนั้นแหละพระเยโฮวาห์จอมโยธาจะทรงป้องกันกรุงเยรูซาเล็ม โดยการป้องกัน พระองค์จะทรงช่วยกรุงนั้นให้พ้นด้วย และโดยทรงเว้นเสีย พระองค์จะสงวนกรุงนั้นไว้

31:5 As birds flying, so will the LORD of hosts defend Jerusalem; defending also he will deliver it; and passing over he will preserve it.

31:6 เจ้าทั้งหลายจงหันกลับมาหาพระองค์ผู้ซึ่งลูกหลานของอิสราเอลได้กบฏอย่างลึกล้ำ

31:6 Turn ye unto him from whom the children of Israel have deeply revolted.

31:7 เพราะในวันนั้น ทุกคนจะทิ้งรูปเคารพทั้งหลายของตนที่ทำด้วยเงิน และรูปเคารพทั้งหลายของตนที่ทำด้วยทองคำ ซึ่งมือของพวกเจ้าได้ทำขึ้นสำหรับพวกเจ้าเพื่อทำบาป

31:7 For in that day every man shall cast away his idols of silver, and his idols of gold, which your own hands have made unto you for a sin.

31:8 แล้วคนอัสซีเรียผู้นั้นจะล้มลงด้วยดาบ ไม่ใช่ของชายฉกรรจ์ และดาบ ไม่ใช่ของคนต่ำต้อย จะกินเขาเสีย แต่เขาจะหนีจากดาบ และบรรดาคนหนุ่มของเขาจะพ่ายแพ้อย่างสิ้นเชิง

31:8 Then shall the Assyrian fall with the sword, not of a mighty man; and the sword, not of a mean man, shall devour him: but he shall flee from the sword, and his young men shall be discomfited.

31:9 และเขาจะข้ามไปยังที่กำบังเข้มแข็งของเขาเพราะความหวาดกลัว และพวกประมุขของเขาจะเกรงกลัวธงสัญญาณนั้น” พระเยโฮวาห์ผู้ซึ่งไฟของพระองค์อยู่ในศิโยน และเตาหลอมของพระองค์อยู่ในกรุงเยรูซาเล็ม ตรัสดังนี้แหละ

31:9 And he shall pass over to his strong hold for fear, and his princes shall be afraid of the ensign, saith the LORD, whose fire is in Zion, and his furnace in Jerusalem.
