พระเจ้าทรงปลอบโยนบารุค
45:1 ถ้อยคำที่เยเรมีย์ผู้พยากรณ์กล่าวแก่บารุคบุตรชายของเนริยาห์ เมื่อเขาได้เขียนถ้อยคำเหล่านี้ในหนังสือจากปากของเยเรมีย์ ในปีที่สี่แห่งรัชกาลของเยโฮยาคิม ราชบุตรของโยสิยาห์ กษัตริย์แห่งยูดาห์ โดยกล่าวว่า

God's Comfort to Baruch
45:1 The word that Jeremiah the prophet spake unto Baruch the son of Neriah, when he had written these words in a book at the mouth of Jeremiah, in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah, saying,

45:2 “พระเยโฮวาห์ พระเจ้าแห่งอิสราเอล ตรัสดังนี้แก่ท่าน โอ บารุคเอ๋ย ว่า

45:2 Thus saith the LORD, the God of Israel, unto thee, O Baruch;

45:3 เจ้าได้กล่าวว่า ‘บัดนี้ วิบัติแก่ข้า เพราะพระเยโฮวาห์ได้ทรงเพิ่มความทุกข์เข้ากับความเศร้าโศกของข้า ข้าก็เหน็ดเหนื่อยในการถอนหายใจของข้า และข้าไม่พบความสงบเลย’

45:3 Thou didst say, Woe is me now! for the LORD hath added grief to my sorrow; I fainted in my sighing, and I find no rest.

45:4 เจ้าจงกล่าวแก่เขาดังนี้ว่า พระเยโฮวาห์ตรัสดังนี้ว่า ดูเถิด สิ่งใดซึ่งเราได้ก่อสร้างขึ้นแล้ว เราจะพังลง และสิ่งใดซึ่งเราได้ปลูกแล้ว เราจะถอนขึ้น คือแผ่นดินนี้ทั้งหมด

45:4 Thus shalt thou say unto him, The LORD saith thus; Behold, that which I have built will I break down, and that which I have planted I will pluck up, even this whole land.

45:5 และเจ้าจะแสวงหาบรรดาสิ่งใหญ่โตสำหรับตัวเองหรือ อย่าแสวงหาพวกมันเลย เพราะดูเถิด เราจะนำความร้ายมาเหนือเนื้อหนังทั้งสิ้น พระเยโฮวาห์ตรัส แต่ชีวิตของเจ้าเราจะให้เป็นรางวัลแก่เจ้าในทุกสถานที่ที่เจ้าไป”

45:5 And seekest thou great things for thyself? seek them not: for, behold, I will bring evil upon all flesh, saith the LORD: but thy life will I give unto thee for a prey in all places whither thou goest.
